No 8: Simon & Garfunkel – Mrs. Robinson (The Graduate)
Well, there is not much to say about this film and its soundtrack except from tourou touroutoutou touroutoutou… OK i am just joking, but my point is that Requiem for a Dream‘s original theme song is probably one of the most recognizable soundtrack songs and melodies of the 00’s.
By now I have told you a thousand times that I am a film person but I haven’t told you that I am also an extreme sports person. So when I heard about this film or I better say documentary I was super excited!
No 9: Death Cab for Cutie – Meet Me on the Equinox (The Twilight Saga: New Moon)
The majority of people when they hear Singin’ in the Rain think of Gene Kelly wearing a yellow raincoat and tap dancing.
Before I begin my “speech” (clears throat), I want to say that you can’t start talking about film and soundtrack and leave The Great Gatsby (2013) out of the conversation. If The Great Gatsby‘s soundtrack isn’t the most discussed soundtrack of the 00’s, it easily makes it to the top 10.
In these “Countdown Time” posts I will be revealing my 10 favorite songs from a film OST one by one.
No 10: Jack White – Love is Blindness (The Great Gatsby)
This post will depart a bit from the “film and soundtrack” theme. It will not be about a film soundtrack in general but about my favorite scene from the film that changed my attitude towards life.
OK for starters, as you might have already read in the About Me section I watch many many films… Still, it took me many years and even more films to comprehend the complexity of making a film, the number of the components that need to be put together and the importance of each of these components such as the soundtrack.
To get to the point, since Sucker Punch (2011) is the first film that opened my eyes to the soundtrack component I wanted it to take my blog’s “virginity”. Yes, unfortunately it took me that long to realize the importance of soundtrack.
